The driver, whose identity was not released, was found unconscious behind the wheel of a black 2004 Lexus partially submerged in the brook at the Pike Brook Bridge as officers responded to the crash near Belle Mead Griggstown Road and Pike Run Road in Montgomery just after 12:45 p.m., township police said in a Monday release.
The driver was extricated and pulled from the vehicle and taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Montgomery EMS 47 and Montgomery Vol. Fire Co. #1 also assisted.
The crash investigation was ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Montgomery Township Police Department at 908-359-3222 and speak with Officer Timothy Giaccone.
