Driver Dies After Lexus Crashes, Lands In Somerset County Brook: Police

A driver was pronounced dead at the hospital after crashing into a brook in Somerset County Friday afternoon, Aug. 25, authorities confirmed.

The driver, whose identity was not released, was found unconscious behind the wheel of a black 2004 Lexus partially submerged in the brook at the Pike Brook Bridge as officers responded to the crash near Belle Mead Griggstown Road and Pike Run Road in Montgomery just after 12:45 p.m., township police said in a Monday release.

The driver was extricated and pulled from the vehicle and taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Montgomery EMS 47 and Montgomery Vol. Fire Co. #1 also assisted.
